Dr. Zoidberg’s !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! got me rolling down Memory Lane with these old commercials for Bert Weinman Ford in Chicago. I saw these all the time as a kid while watching The Cisco Kid and The Lone Ranger on Saturday mornings (not so much the ‘80s commercials, since I left Chicago in ‘76). That’s nattily-dressed !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! doing the pitch, a former radio man who hawked Detroit iron for “Your TV Ford Man” for 26 years. Bert Weinman Ford !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in 2006 after 39 years, when Bert’s son sold the land to developers.

So I have to know: who’s got the time to locate and upload Burt Weinman Ford commercials to YouTube?

Linn Burton for certain!

A friend of mine used Linn as a radio pitchman for his Pet store from 1989 to around 1992.

They were on WGN on Saturday and Sunday morning (maybe only Sunday), so I’m sure the airtime was pretty cheap. They probably sponsored the whole episode of Cisco Kid, so they got all the ad time.
